In 1900, the Van Melle company was founded in Breskens, Holland. In 1932, Mentos as we know them became a reality in Poland.

On a train journey through Poland, the brothers Michael and Pierre Van Melle had the vision to create a mint-flavored candy, to be called Mentos, and this was the beginning of a world of freshness.

The new Mentos production moves to Rotterdam, Holland. Large orders from France, Germany and England marked the beginning of freshness around the world. In 1960, Mentos Rollo arrived, a time when fashion, sex and music were revolutionized.

The first roll is released, and Mentos chewing-gum and candies begin to be consumed all over the world.

In 1973 Mentos has new flavors and while in Nepal, the king was delighted with Mentos Menta, new flavors such as Cinnamon, Menthol and Fruits were introduced in America and Europe.

In the 90's Mentos launched its campaign "The Freshmaker", reaching its main consumers. After this campaign, Mentos sales skyrocketed.
